Fu-bar

Over the years I've owned hundreds of domain names. It became a bit of an obsession.

If I had an idea for a thing then I registered the domain name for it.

I wasn't trying to reserve a brand. My ideas were always personal projects, never a business idea. But I hoped that having invested in the domain name then I'd be more driven to work on it. It never worked that way!

I did have the domain for this once upon a time. The idea was for a developer hangout where the bad ideas get discussed, rather than best-practice highbrow stuff. You want to write no-database content management systems? I hear ya buddy, let's chat at the Fu-Bar.

On 18 January 2000 I designed this graphic and that was as far as I got!
